PRPC Staff

Mark and Val
The MiltnersWe’re the two woodticks who duped the bank into trusting us with the payment book to fund Planet PRPC. We were naturally drawn to this business as we blessed with parents who enjoyed spending time in a canoe. We have two beautiful kids. Annie, our daughter, is 23 and an incredible young woman. Our son Jacob at 16 is already twice the man his dad is. We delight in helping families and friends enjoy memory-filled days Up North as well as providing seasonal work for the PRPC Superstaff. Away from work, we enjoy human-powered recreation: canoeing, kayaking, skiing, biking and hunting.
Annie
Our 23 year old daughter has been working with PRPC her whole life. Homeschooled through high school, Annie graduated from Christian Liberty Academy in 2002. She then studied a year at both Baker and Northwestern Michigan Colleges before transferring to Cornerstone University where she’ll be a Senior majoring in elementary education. Away from work and school, Annie enjoys snowboarding and skiing, kayaking, animals, children, missions work and all things outdoors. Favorite quote: “Dad, you’re mean.”
Andrew
AndrewAndrew is another one of PRPC’s outdoor addicts. He graduated from Cadillac Heritage Christian School in 2000 and attended Northwestern Michigan College’s School of Aviation. His interests include flying, paddling, fishing, hunting, waterskiing, traveling, meeting new people, campfires, swimming and sailing. Andrew and Rebecca, the one with the beautiful smile, just got married this past June in one of God’s natural cathedrals along the banks of the Pine River. Favorite quote: “Not all those who wander are lost.”
Craig
craigCraig has contributed his considerable talents and energy to PRPC since 1992 when he graduated from Pine River High School. Craig graduated from MSU and has a “real job” running a survey crew for Axin Land Surveys. Craig met the love of his life, Jennifer, when they both worked for PRPC. Now married, Craig and Jenny have two precocious children: Gabby is a 7 year old “brainiac” and 5 year old Maddox is their “patience tester.” After shooting straight lines as a surveyor all week, Craig enjoys trading punchlines with the PRPC crew on Saturdays. His interests include almost every sport and outdoor activity. Favorite quote: “If the women don’t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.”
Holly
Holly is another PRPC natural. She graduated from Cadillac High School this year and is headed for the University of Redlands to study photography and graphic design. Currently, she has set her sights on a career with an outdoor magazine. Interests include snowboarding, wakeboarding, downhill ski racing, waterskiing, surfing, traveling and photography. Favorite musicians include Jack Johnson, Dispatch, and classic rock bands like CCR and Steve Miller.
Kati
Kati is another PRPC Natural. She's a home-school graduate from Irons where her family of seven lives on a hobby farm in the woods that they share with lots of goats, chickens, pigs, a dog and cat. In August, Kati is headed off to her first year of college at Montana Wilderness School of the Bible. Her interests include hiking, biking, hunting, paddling, rock climbing and beating up boys. Favorite author: Ted Dekker. Favorite movie: Pirates of the Caribbean.
Casey
CaseyThis will be Casey’s third season with PRPC. She graduated from Cadillac High School and will be a Junior at MSU majoring in Pre-Veterinary/Animal Science. Casey has a passion for animals and her other interests include horseback riding, skiing, biking, fishing, camping swimming, canoeing, kayaking and rafting the Pine River. Favorite quote: “Live every day as if it were your last with no regrets.”
Brandon
Brandon and his sister Casey are third generation Pine River natives. He grew up fishing and hunting along the Pine River with his grandparents, the notorious Carl and Betty Fortelka (they founded Carl's Canoe Livery back in the late 60's). Brandon enjoys camping, hunting, fishing, and canoing all seasons of the year here in northern Michigan.
Stacey
StacyStacey has been with PRPC since 2003. After graduating from Brethren High School in 2005, she studied pre-med at the University of Northern Colorado for a year. She’s back home after transferring to the University of Michigan. Her main interests include rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, reading, traveling, and music. As much as she loves the outdoors, Stacey can’t pass up a day at the mall. Favorite books: George Orwell’s 1984, and Homer’s The Iliad and The Odyssey.
Tim
TimTim graduated from Cadillac High School and is now studying Aviation Flight Science at Western Michigan University. Tim dreams of launching his own small airline. If you’ve ever seen the sitcom Wings, you know the kind of airline Tim would run. One thing we can tell you for sure, the guy is always smiling. When not in school or getting stuff done around PRPC, Tim enjoys snow skiing, water skiing, flying, golfing, Frisbee, hunting, fishing and hanging out with his friends.
Jacob
Our son Jake is a sophomore at Cadillac Heritage Christian. When not Velcroed to his computer, Jake loves paddling his Jackson kayak, rock climbing, archery, the shooting sports, spending time in the woods, and basketball. Favorite river: The Montreal. Favorite movie: The Anchorman.
Robert
Robert is a sophomore at Pine River High School. A military history buff, Robert has been a Sea Cadet for two years now and plans to join the Marines upon graduating from high school. 2007 will be his first summer working at PRPC and he has big shoes to fill. His sister and brother were both outstanding staff members of the PRPC staff and we’re sure Robert will carry on the family tradition. Robert enjoys swimming, paintball, electronic games, dirt-biking, deer hunting, camping, fishing and kayaking.
