A passion for clean rivers
Greetings again…. Smiles to you all….lots of them!!…..
I’m obviously having a hard time disciplining myself to tend to the PRPC blog, but please be patient……I’m old, I’ll get there J…..maybe it was from having had to fight back the tears while doing the first blog entry?? But prompting this 2nd entry was a visit by yet another incredible group of people. How blessed we are! Again!

Twice in the past week a group of incredible river-caretakers from the Cherry Capital Paddle America Club descended on and blessed the Pine River. The reason for their outing……to leave the Pine River an even better treasure than how they found it……by liberating the streambed, logjams, and riverbanks of litter between the Peterson and Low Bridges…..and then on their second visit between the Dobson and Peterson Bridges……and have a great time with friends and family doing so.
Words can't express how grateful we are to have folks like CCPAC who are passionate about keeping our rivers clean. Whenever and wherever they paddle they secure all gear to their craft so as to not inadvertantly litter the stream should someone capsize. And they spend several days each paddling season cleaning rivers all across Northern Michigan.
Of PRPC’s “First Annual Contests” that are now published on our website, the one we’re most excited about is the Negative Trace/Positive Vibe Contest. See www.thepineriver.com/contest/negativetrace for details. And while we want to encourage as much participation as possible, it’s clear that there is some stiff competition here.
Herewith are a few of the photos CCPAC members took along the way, and with their bounty at the end of their trip. You just can’t hide the Positive Vibe that comes from having spent the day cleaning up a beautiful river that should never be burdened with litter.
Kudos to the Cherry Capital Paddle America Club River Stewards!!Thanks for taking the time to care!! The PRPC SuperCrew
