This cancellation policy applies to weather cancellations, too. However, if there is inclement weather the day of your trip, we are happy to move your trip to another date within the same calendar year.

Assumption of Risk:

As does any active outdoor recreation, paddling a river includes elements of risk. We discourage anyone impaired by medication, drugs, or alcohol to go on any of our trips. Pregnant women need to consider their physical condition, paddling skills, and risk level on the Pine River. We expect the group leader to convey our policies to those who are in his/her party who may not be coming into our office to receive our policies. PRPC does not assume liability for personal injuries or accidents. Group Leaders sign a waiver and release form prior to the trip.

Courtesy Along the River:

PRPC wants your Pine River or Big Manistee River adventure to be a safe and happy one. Please use common sense and good manners while on the river. The great majority of the property along the rivers is public, either State or National Forest. There is, however, some privately owned property along the way, and it is important that you do not stop on Private Property. Please maintain the "Quiet" river experience.

Remember - Paddlesports and Alcohol Do Not Mix

For social, safety, and resource protection reasons, PRPC maintains an alcohol limit of 3 beers per person, No hard alcohol, Jello shots, or other intoxicants allowed.  Please don't consider reserving with PRPC unless you are prepared to adhere to the ban on excess alcohol.  To eliminate surprises, we ask that all members of your group be notified of this policy before your arrival. We appreciate your efforts to keep our rivers safe and peaceful.

Conditions of the USFS River-Use Permit

The USFS River-Use Permit prohibits water balloons, styrofoam packaging and coolers, glass containers, and firecrackers in paddle-craft.

About Our Campground

The PRPC Campground is a beautiful..... and unusual campground. Unusual, in that we sell a quiet camping experience. Not suggesting here that noisy campers are bad folks, but we are saying that we do not allow noisy camping at PRPC. We want you to enjoy the camping experience you desire. So it is important that prior to pursuing a camping reservation with us that you read through Our Campground Policies to see if the camping style of your family or group is a fit for PRPC. Thanks!!
