Kestelwoods is an extremely clean and well-run campground located just one mile south of PRPC. It features a heated swimming pool, electric hook-ups and water at every site, picnic supplies for campers, as well as a campground restaurant and shirt store.

Twin Oaks Campground

Twin Oaks Campground & Cabins is located halfway between Cadillac and Manistee. To get there, drive four miles to the east of Wellston, turn north on Moss Road off of Highway 55, and travel 4 miles to the west of Highway 37.

Coyote Crossing

Ten newer deluxe cabins. Each has two bedrooms with a full bath, living room, fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV, Wi-Fi access and individual patio. With two bedrooms and a pull-out sofa, all cabins can sleep up to six people comfortably.

Peterson Bridge Campground

Peterson Bridge Campground is the only Forest Service campground on the Pine River. Ten of the sites are paddle or walk-in only. The canoe/boat launch is located across the river at Peterson Bridge North.

Silver Creek State Forest Campground

Campsites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations. 26 sites for tent and small trailer use are located on the scenic Pine River. This campground offers opportunity for hiking and mountain biking on its Silver Creek Pathway. Nearby canoe landing provides access to the river. Rustic campground includes vault toilets and potable water from a hand-pump well.

Sand Lake

Sand Lake Campground is situated on the scenic shores of Sand Lake and provides a selection of sites shaded by a mixed hardwood forest. Just beyond the trees is a well-loved, sandy swimming beach.The campground is located 15 minutes from the Pine National Scenic River and several other lakes. The popular campground sits within the Huron-Manistee National Forests,far enough from town to let its natural splendor shine, but close enough for convenient access to gas and groceries.

Seaton Creek Campground

Seaton Creek Campground adjoins Seaton Creek and is at the upper end of the backwater of Hodenpyl Dam Pond on the Big Manistee River. The forest surrounding the campground is mostly pine and the sites are rustic. The closest town is Mesick.

Located in Wellston, Northwoods Cabins are light housekeeping cabins with kitchenettes, bathrooms with showers, bedding, and cookware included.

Bear Track Campground

Bear Track hosts a 1.5 mile trail that connects the campground to the North Country National Scenic Trail making it an easy place to incorporate it into your hike along the trail system. Or afford a family plenty of day hiking opportunities for their weekend getaway.

Tippy Dam

This small, rustic campground, located at Tippy Dam Pond, also includes an active boating access site. An area known for its fishing opportunities and accessibility, it attracts many anglers in search of trout, steelhead and salmon.

The Lodge is a magnificent 5100 sq. ft hand-hewn rustic log home built from huge red pines taken right from the property. The Lodge sits high on a riverbank with a fantastic view overlooking the Pine River.

Carrieville State Forest Campground

31 sites for tent and small trailer use, one of which can accommodate 40-ft vehicle/trailer. Located along the Little Manistee River with good trout fishing, off-road vehicle route accessible from campsite. Rustic campground includes vault toilets and potable water from well hand pump.

Old Grade Campground

Located on the Little Manistee River, this campground is completely surrounded by National Forest System land. There is a short interpretive hiking trail with foot bridges from the campground through a hemlock and birch forest. The campground is located near wetlands and many fields. making it an excellent area to view wildlife. Canoeing is not recommended on this portion of the river as it is very shallow, however, this area is popular with anglers seeking trout.

Manistee

Blacksmith Bayou Access

One of many bayous along the lower portion of the river, Blacksmith is an oxbow lake left from an old river channel. The river channel moves during geologic time, creating new meanders in the mile-wide river valley. The North Country Trail follows the ridge along the bayou and crosses the entrance road. This is a good area for ice fishing.

Lake Michigan Recreation Area

Lake Michigan Recreation Area is a four loop campground located on the shoreline to Lake Michigan between Manistee and Ludington. In addition to the 99 single family sites and 3 group sites, the site also boasts a day use area with multiple picnic tables, pavilions and a playground, an amphitheater and an overlook. Arrowhead Trail, which runs through the campground, connects to the wilderness trails that traverse Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area.

Orchard Beach State Park

Orchard Beach State Park is situated on a bluff over looking Lake Michigan. A stairway leads from the campground to the beach and self-guided hiking trails are adjacent to the park. The park offers a great hike for the casual hiker.  Quick and scenic with many information stations along the trails.  Learn about the natural history of the State Park and Manistee County shoreline. This is also a great spot for a morning cross country ski in the winter months.

Small rustic campground with access to Manistee Lake, Big Manistee River, Little Manistee River, and Lake Michigan. Boat docks with tie ups. Small playground area, fish cleaning station, four new complete bathrooms, an ADA playground, a boat launch, sanitary dump station and 37 sites(with 10 electric sites).

Hemlock State Campground

This Campground is located on the west end of Lake Mitchell near Cadillac. The Lake is 1,600 acres and nearly surrounded by residences. The west end of the lake is marshy and good for wildlife viewing. The lake is n to good for swimming at this end, due to milfoil and other plants.

Mitchell State Park

William Mitchell State Park is a popular camping,fishing and boating destination. The 334-acre park is situated between Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac and provides an excellent opportunity to view a variety of wildlife on the outskirts of Cadillac. A historic canal connects the two lakes and runs directly through the park.

Platte River Campground

Platte River Campground is open year-round and offers a wide variety of camping styles. You can find back-in and pull-through sites for RV's, including electrical hookups; but it also offers beautiful tent sites, walk-in sites for the slightly more adventurous, and group sites (hike-in, tents only)accommodating up to 25 people. There is even a nearby backcountry campground for those who enjoy a great backpacking experience, but don't have the time to head for the Manitou Islands.
